Faust, fly balls, and devilishly good fun all meet at the home plate of this 8 Tony Award winning Broadway musical, 'Damn Yankees'. - 02/25/2012 - Airport Way
Airport Way is a self-acclaimed Island Rock band from Seattle, Washington. Using combinations of Classic Rock, Reggae, and Indie-Pop influence, Airport Way creates a live performance that reminds listeners of The Police and Sublime, and that artist contemporaries recognize as conceptually adventurous. Overall, the music delivers every listener the opportunity to tap, sway, and dance.
-
Identified as a passionate approach to song writing, Airport Way captures the sound of Death Cab, Modest Mouse, Lynyrd Skynrd, the Black Keys, and Led Zeppelin to achieve an expandable, full bodied edge. All original compositions are then crowned with traditional bass lines and rhythm accents from the sound of DJ Shadow, King Tubby, Tribe Called Quest, Primus, and Bob Marley to engage a call and response between the band and the audience. That polyamorous relationship of musical influence gives Airport Way's Island Rock its justifiable roots.
-
With their combined 25 years of experience in live performance, Airport Way hardly handles themselves as the 17 month old project that they are. Building steadfast relationships outside the local industry and maintaining their loyal grass roots effort make Airport Way an emerging band worth the shared experience. Listeners accept Airport Way as a member of their local music scene without knowing that band mates Chris Burger, Amos Morgan, and John Paul perform from Seattle. This uniquely creative formula provides the same outcome whether heard at a house party, jazz lounge, local bar, farmer's market, or festival stage. The live Airport Way experience is meant to be familiar, danceable, and social fun. - 03/02/2012 - Opening Reception: Honoring Teachers
